Apparently i pissed off everyone except the ones i wanted to piss off. Yes, this is about the notorious post i wrote last week-ish
.
I will say this about it and i’ll be brief -
I’m not apologizing. I will not say sorry for writing on my personal blog or remove the post. It’s an angry rant.
rant
verb (used without object)
to speak or declaim extravagantly or violently; talk in a wild or vehement way; rave: ‘The demagogue ranted for hours’.
So there you have it
As i so often am, i can be blunt and undiplomatic or unprofessional or whatever you want to call it. I will use profanity from time to time. It’s my blog after all. I can do whatever the hell i like on there. If something crazy like this would be posted on the actual AdRotate blog… Different story.
So all this fuzz and upheaval… Move on!
Now, everyone, focus on what the AdRotate and Events Plugins do best and do what you do best; Use my plugins and be the cool users you usually are.
“If something crazy like this would be posted on the actual AdRotate blog… Different story.”
I am all for rants on personal blogs. The strange thing is that a feed from your personal blog is packaged with your Ad rotator plugin as “As rotator updates”, which shows up on the dashboard of any site that uses ad rotator . Which is as good as having it on your AdRotate blog. I hide updates from Ad rotator to keep clients from seeing them. I really do dig the plugin, but am not so keen on reading your personal blogs to find out if there is any info that actually pertains to your plugin. Keep up the good work and best of luck with your new ventures.
I agree with Peter. Because the RSS pushes this rant right into my WordPress Dashboard it’s not a proper place for it. That feed should be about AdRotate. Yes, rants about WordPress.org pulling your plugin are fine, go for it. Clients: male, female, all ages, clergymen, (does the Pope WordPress?) can come across the current rant in that feed.
I’m all for ranting, and AdRotate is a remarkable plugin (when get some ad revenue going I’ll send some money your way). But the update feed in the Dashboard isn’t the right place. I’d say the the standard should be something that you wouldn’t mind seeing in the WordPress News feed in the dashboard.
Maybe a Twitter tweet with a link to your personal blog would be a better way to publicize the rant so I’d have immediate knowledge of your boss’ pussy-ness instead of having to wait until I hit the Dashboard :^P
Ditto. I use this plugin for clients’ websites. So by putting your personal blog in the same feed as the plugin’s you’re making us all endorsers of your whine-rant. So when a client asks me about it, my credibility is undermined as if I were the dumbass who wrote that post. The reason for all the “fuzz and upheaval” is that the issue is unresolved and you seem to be trying (and failing) to convince everyone to ignore the obvious. Grow up, recognize that you f-ed up and recover like a man. THEN you’ll see everyone get behind you. We’re a fan of the work; but right now the worker seems less than professional.
