Events 1.5.2

Written by Arnan on August 16, 2008 – 1:05 pm

So here it is. Yet another new version…

Changes and new stuff:
[new] Duplicating events
[fix] Deletion of events now works again (broke with 1.5)
[change] Removed ‘delete event’ link from edit form
[new] Option to manually or automatically (default) delete old events
[new] Button to manually remove old events from management
[update] un-install notice
[change] Improved notification system

The duplication option can be reached when you edit an existing event. Fill in the things that differ and click the duplicate button. It’s really easy.

As a sort of workaround for the automated deletion of old events. You can turn that off now to prevent premature deletion of events which you want to keep but are not archived (yet). Only archived events show on the website, non-archived old events only show on the dashboard.

For a change, no special upgrade instructions apply. Just upload all files to the right spot and enjoy!

Great plugin, thanks for sharing! I have two suggestions, both related to connecting events to pages:

    1. Would it be possible to have a dropdown of existing pages alongside the text-field for “Link to page”? That would make it so much easier to link to internal pages.

    2. Would it be possible to have a code for including the details of one event on a page, like [events_list id="2"] or [events_list event="2"]?

  2. Arnan Says:

i’ll look into that… seems nice.

This version seems buggy. When I enter an event, the entry is saved with 2010 as the year. When I try and edit those entries, the system deletes the entries in stead. Any suggestions?

I would love to use this plugin as it seems to be the best one, but…

either fill in the right date dd/mm/yyyy or uninstall events an re-install.

i cannot reproduce your error here. many others also use events and have not had this issue, so i’m fairly certain it’s no bug.

    Hi,
I’m looking for a way to update our church websites static weekly schedule. Right now it’s a little clunky looking, but I can’t seem to find anything that would work. I’m wondering if your plugin will make it easy for me to display a static weekly schedule (or at least give the appearance that it’s static). Our weekly schedule is a schedule for our continual events, for example, we always have church every Sunday.
What I don’t really need is just another calendar. We already have a calendar for events and stuff.

    Thanks!
    -Stewart
