Interesting. Gmail using IMAP does sync with your iPhone, Mail.app, and Gmail itself. You can have your outgoing mail route through gmail’s server as well so “sent” email shows up there as well.
Not stupid, logical my friend.
Since iPhone does IMAP, the messages are on the server, and thus synced that way. iTunes only puts the correct settings for you on the iPhone..
ofcourse, but for POP it makes no sense and is just annoying.
I changed the address to IMAP now though.
