So i just installed version 2.2 on my iPhone. As always the instructions were super vague and i was a bit uncertain.
Turns out the line: “Restore your iPhone 2G with iTunes then run QuickPwn to do the magic, ‘nuff said.” Wasn’t so unclear as i thought it was. Logically this would mean “do a regular update to version 2.2 and run QuickPwn to modify it”. Earlier experiences with these custom firmware things told that you need to download the software, modify it and then update. So i was a bit uncertain. using the update function in iTunes, effectively breaking the hack, and then running QuickPwn seems to do the trick. No restore required. If you don’t care about Cydia or Installer you don’t even need QuickPwn. However for convenience i installed those 2. You never know…
