Distractions are my excuse! Events is broken…
Written by Arnan on August 29, 2008 – 11:12 pmSo with version 1.5.3 and probably 1.5.2 and even 1.5.1 a bug was introduced that the ending time wasn’t calculated properly.
Cleverly found and reported in this thread: http://forum.at.meandmymac.net/topic/endtime-returns-start-time-fix-included
Apologies! The error is corrected and you can redownload the version 1.5.3 and replace wp-events-functions.php with the new file. Just overwrite the thing, you don’t even have to disable the plugin or anything, just FTP it over the existing file.
Lately i’m a bit sloppy and slow on following up with updates. New job opportunities are the main reason. I have a lot on my mind because of it. Also some changes on my current job do not make my life easier… So viola!
Anyway, to fix the endtime issue, redownload the plugin. This is such a minot fix i made no new version out of it.

Written by Arnan on August 29, 2008 – 12:13 amSo finally after a few days of tampering with some new features which i removed again because i sucked at concentrating… *sigh* A lot is on my mind.
Anyway, some fixes, some changes, check it out:
[new] Language field for ‘past events’ message
[change] Post event message only shows AFTER the event, not during the event
[new] For the events_list function you can now optionally specify one event
[change] the function events_page() is now events_list()
[change] Improved date setting for adding/editing events
[update] Improved MySQL queries on several parts and functions
[change] Message after event is now a textarea
[fix] Duration now shows the actual duration as expected

Events 1.5.2
Written by Arnan on August 16, 2008 – 1:05 pmSo here it is. Yet another new version…
Changes and new stuff:
[new] Duplicating events
[fix] Deletion of events now works again (broke with 1.5)
[change] Removed ‘delete event’ link from edit form
[new] Option to manually or automatically (default) delete old events
[new] Button to manually remove old events from management
[update] un-install notice
[change] Improved notification system
The duplication option can be reached when you edit an existing event. Fill in the things that differ and click the duplicate button. It’s really easy.
As a sort of workaround for the automated deletion of old events. You can turn that off now to prevent premature deletion of events which you want to keep but are not archived (yet). Only archived events show on the website, non-archived old events only show on the dashboard.
For a change, no special upgrade instructions apply. Just upload all files to the right spot and enjoy!

Events 1.5.1
Written by Arnan on August 6, 2008 – 12:38 pmOk ok… Last night turned up to be a sloppy update!
I have patched the installer and my tests here show it to work properly this time.
Please download the 1.5.1 update which fixes just that. Also this should prevent Wordpress from going nuts on re-activating the plugin!
Some limitation in the $wpdb class prevented the queries from properly working i think.

Events 1.5
Written by Arnan on August 5, 2008 – 11:22 pmA huge update to Events.
Fret not… If you follow the upgrade instructions you’ll be fine! And this is another great opportunity to try out the CustomQuery plugin…
So, what’s in store:
- [change] Time and date are now separated - %starttime% %startdate% and %endtime% %enddate% are the new tags
- [fix] Archive now counts up properly
- [change] %starttime% is now %countdown%
- [change] %date% is now %starttime%
- [change] For archive; %countdown% is now %countup%
- [fix] Settings are now properly checked and ‘corrected / reset’ when things are missing
- [fix] All-day events are now properly handled (acknowlegded) by the countdown timer
- [fix] Events occurring multiple days now also show up in ‘todays events’ when appropriate
- [fix] Widget leaves out empty title field
- [new] Manageable categories
- [new] Shortcode to select a category
- [change] MySQL error now links to meandmymac.net
- [change] MySQL table checking, checks per table
This! That… And as with new features like categories… You need to alter the database. Again! Don’t blame me… i didn’t want the categories. You did! It has been requested many many times now.
Anyway.

Events 1.4
Written by Arnan on July 26, 2008 – 8:40 pmAnother update for Events.
This update brings no significant new changes other than a few bugfixes and WP shortcodes.
In usage this doesn’t change much as coincidentally the
Important events
Events 3 years in development, Approximately 3 years ago i started this thing… on 20 Nov 2008

This is a long event. Over 120 characters i think., I didn't count but it think its a pretty long event. As you can see it's cut of for the sidebar and shows in fully on the Events page. on 02 Jun 2010 12:00
in 599 days and 12:42 hours.
Duration: No duration!

An event in the distant future, Yea you can plan years and years ahead... on 26 Jul 2025 13:45
in 6132 days and 14:27 hours.
Duration: No duration!
However, with the new features you can override certain aspects of the plugin configuration using the new shortcode syntax. For example you can limit the amount of events show on a page list using:
[events_list amount="12"]Where 12 is the amount shown, obviously. This works for the archive and todays list too!
Another change is the loss of all 4 Title fields on the language settings. This is now done directly in the theme. So make sure to reset the Titles for the sidebar, page, archive and todays list in the template settings.

Minor buggery stuff!
Written by Arnan on July 18, 2008 – 4:44 pmEvents user Beth has uncovered a small bug in the parsing of the Archive and Today’s listing of events.
This is fixed as of now. Please if you have trouble parsing %link% redownload the plugin and overwrite wp-events-functions.php with the new file.
No new version has been issued.
Thanks Beth!

Written by Arnan on July 17, 2008 – 11:46 pmA big/huge/large update today! Including many feature requests and some changes as well as some bugfixes (minor ones)
And here is the changelog:
[change] Widget now integrated into the plugin, this should fix future version mismatches
[change] Updated options panel for widget
[new] Link to add event on manage page
[new] Locations for events
[new] All day events
[fix] Minor bugfixes in the parsing of events on archives
[fix] Titles of links are now better parsed
[new] In management, events now can be sorted by location
[change] Events description field is enlarged a fair bit
[change] All options are now split up in 3 groups (options/templates/languages) You might need to reset all options!
[fix] If HH:MM are 00:00 it is filtered out from the timestamp %date%
Not so much not so much at all! ha!
Take note that with this new version the whole ’settings’ setting is overhauled and thus might require you to configure Events from the ground up. So don’t be surprised if your template or language is gone.
Oh and before upgrading read the damn upgrade instructions, they have real purpose and are very important! Especially with this upgrade!
